Most TV news people are broke and in a small town they’ve never been to during their first jobs that can be really hard on anyone! In addition to my fulltime job at the station, which didn’t have a consistent schedule, I was able to find a part time job that was willing to work around that in order to make ends meet.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is “things will get better.” My first job was so hard, not in terms of the work necessarily, but just in getting by. My career has not always been easy, but overall it’s been great! I don’t look back at anything with disappointment or regret the hard work has been worth it. I like to do my best work and always work to improve my best. I am a very hard worker and I think that’s what has gotten me to the point in my career that I am at now. Know your worth and work toward your goals! Hard work pays off and it’s important to actively pursue whatever you view as success, it rarely just falls in your lap without any work, planning or thought.Ĭan you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work. I have worked toward my career goals since college ( I didn’t know what I wanted to do before then) but even in high school I was very focused on my grades to set myself up for success. I believe it’s important to have a goal and figure out what you need to do to achieve that! It may take some time, but you should be actively working toward what you want if you want to achieve it. “Good things come to those who wait.” While patience is important, that alone will get you nowhere.
